3GAbELS Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how UE 3G ABACUS PTE. LTD. (UEN: 201203995Z) (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data through the 3GAbELS website, learning platform and related services (“3GAbELS” or the “Platform”).

We handle personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).

1. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use 3GAbELS, we may collect:

• Account information, such as your name, contact details, date of birth, address, country, account ID, and assigned instructor or centre;
• Learning information, such as courses, exercises, answers, scores, progress, instructor comments, and grading examination or competition records;
• Premium Membership information, such as membership period, payment status, transaction and billing records; and
• Technical and communication information, such as IP address, device and browser details, login activity, cookies, support requests and correspondence.

Payment-card details may be processed directly by a third-party payment provider and may not be stored by us.

2. How we collect personal data

We may collect personal data:

• From you when you register, use 3GAbELS or contact us;
• From your instructor or centre;
• From a parent, guardian or authorised representative;
• Automatically when you use the Platform;
• From payment and technology providers; and
• From existing 3G Abacus enrolment, examination or competition records, where permitted.

If you give us another person’s information, you should ensure that you are authorised to do so.

3. How we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

• Create and manage accounts and confirm student enrolment;
• Provide learning materials, worksheets, assessments and progress reports;
• Support students through their assigned instructor or centre;
• Administer Premium Membership, payments, grading examinations and competitions;
• Communicate with users, provide support and protect the Platform; and
• Improve 3GAbELS and meet business, regulatory and legal requirements.

We will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required before using personal data for a materially different purpose.

4. Student data

3GAbELS is used by students enrolled with participating 3G Abacus instructors or centres.

Student data may be used to administer accounts, provide learning activities and assessments, record progress, administer grading examinations and competitions, and support students through their assigned instructor or centre.

Where required by law, the necessary consent will be obtained during enrolment or account registration, either directly or through an instructor or centre authorised to collect it.

A parent or guardian who creates or approves a child’s account after being given access to this Privacy Policy consents to the handling of the child’s personal data as described in this Policy.

5. Who may receive personal data

A student’s personal data may be accessed by:

• The student’s assigned instructor or centre;
• The student’s parent, guardian or authorised representative;
• Service providers that host, operate or support 3GAbELS; and
• Public authorities where required or permitted by law.

These parties may access only the information reasonably needed for their role. We do not sell or rent personal data.

6. Cookies

3GAbELS may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep users signed in;
• Remember preferences;
• Provide essential features;
• Protect accounts;
• Measure usage;
• Identify technical problems; and
• Improve the Platform.

You may control cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of 3GAbELS from working properly.

7. Marketing

We may send necessary communications about accounts, learning activities, examinations, competitions, Premium Membership, security and Platform changes.

We will send promotional communications only where permitted by law and where the necessary consent has been obtained.

You may stop optional marketing by using an unsubscribe facility or emailing 3gabels@3gabacus.com. This will not stop essential service communications.

8. Retention and security

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for educational, operational or legal purposes. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure or loss. Users are responsible for keeping their login details secure. If unauthorised access is suspected, users should change their password immediately and contact us if further assistance is required.

9. Personal data matters

Requests concerning access to, correction of, or withdrawal of consent for personal data may be submitted to 3gabels@3gabacus.com.

Requests will be handled in accordance with the PDPA. We may verify the requester’s identity or authority and may retain information where permitted or required by law.

Withdrawal of consent may affect the availability of relevant 3GAbELS services.

10. Data breaches

If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess and manage it.

Where required under the PDPA, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission and affected individuals as soon as practicable.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, practices or legal obligations change.

The latest version will be published with a new effective date. Where a change is material, we may provide notice through 3GAbELS, by email or through the relevant instructor or centre.
